About

The New IRP V2 Turnbuckles have been redesigned.
The original IRP Turnbuckles were constructed out of 3/8" billet hex,and the adjustment hex section was located at the outer end of the turnbuckle. this made the tightening of the jam nut on the outer rod end a bit challenging.

The new V2"s are constructed of 1/2" billet hex, and we redisigned the turnbuckle by moving the adjustment hex section slightly inbound, thus allowing for an easier, more user friendly adjustment and tightening of the rod ends jam nuts.
We also cut 2 small grooves, or rings in the  turnbuckle centerlink. These make it much easier to identify which end is the outer. these 2 rings go to the outer, or steering arm of the hub.
The new V2's are slightly heavier than the originals,
the 1st generation came in @ 38.13 grams assembled. the 2nd generation comes in @ 44.94 grams assembled. to put that increase in perspective, an everyday piece of printer paper comes in @ 3.88 grams, so in my opinion adding 4 pieces of printer paper to 35lb Baja is not enough to make a difference...the added benefit of wall thickness and strength is worth the sacrifice.

Now for a couple of disclaimers.
1) These do not work well with the Integy or Golden Horizons billet steering wiper arm systems, they will work, but you will lose a very slight amount of suspension travel, for you on road and oval guys this is a non issue, but for the guys that insist on running max droop. Without any limiting cables or straps, you will see a slight loss of droop upon full extension.

2) IRP requires that you use the IRP Stand-off Spacer set for all turnbuckles and are sold separately. They can be purchased here or seen listed in the related items below.
These will allow for full articulation and further reduce steering slop. These will also decrease the chances of toe movement, as these are designed to remove the play between the rod end ball and the bolt that secures the rod ends to the steering components.
